I consider my role as a mother to be sacred and of utmost importance. My two ancestors in training, Charles (14 years old) and Jack (11 years old), and others like them, inform how I live my life. What I do now and how I raise them affect the future. Thus, I strive to raise my kids to be in relationship with their kapwa (their human and non-human kin) and the community, practice self-determination, and steward their gifts for our collective liberation.
With the above in mind, I maintain a blog of letters for my son so that they may know about their ginikanan (their parents/origins/ancestral roots).
